Oh No! Nail Fungus -I Cannot Go Barefoot Ever Again!
Nail fungus affects approximately 2-18% of the population. Translated that is about 35 million people. Statistics show that about 25% of adults will experience nail fungus by the time they reach their 40’s and that 50% of seniors will develop nail fungus.
The Mayo Clinic defines Nail Fungus as:
“Nail Fungus is a fungal infection in one or more of your nails. An infection with Nail Fungus may begin as a white or yellow spot under the tip of your fingernail or toenail. As the Nail Fungus spreads deeper into your nail, it may cause your nail to discolor, thicken and develop crumbling edges – an unsightly and potentially painful problem”
Adults are more prone to develop Nail Fungus on their toenails, because the fungus infections love dark, warm and moist areas. Toenails are ideal since most of us wear socks and closed toe shoes most of the day and for months out of the year.
Most healthcare providers will recommend and prescribe oral medications, ointments or a special nail polish that you need to take or apply for weeks. In order to have the Nail Fungus totally gone, a new nail must regrow and then you still run the risk of having a re-occurrence.
You can try the traditional approach or you can try Young Living Essential Oils. Young Living Essential Oils are 100% Therapeutic/Medical Grade and provide health benefits. You will only notice health benefits when you use 100% Therapeutic/Medical Grade Oils.
Here are some ways to treat Nail Fungus using Essential Oils. You can use these on both the fingernail and toenail fungus infections:
1. Melaleuca Alternifolia Essential Oil (common name is Tea Tree Oil) — Apply several drops to the toes and toenails on both feet. Do this in the morning when getting dressed and in the evening before bed.
2. Thieves Fresh Essence Mouthwash Plus – apply to the skin around the toenails. Perform this morning and night.
3. Thieves Essential Oil Blend – make a foot-bath of 1-3 drops of Thieves Oil, Epson Salt and water. Soak both feet daily for 15-30 minutes. Make sure to dry your feet completely. After the foot-bath, you can use the Melaleuca Alternifolia Oil.
With any protocol, you must be consistent for the treatment to work. Keep using the Melaleuca Alternifolia, Thieves Mouthwash or the Thieves Oil Blend until a new nail regrows. Since there is a risk of re-occurrence, apply the Melaleuca Alternifolia as needed to keep the nail free of fungus.
